Amazon Review November 14, 2008
by David Whitfield

Great new take on Merlin: Much has been written about King Arthur and his wizard Merlin, but nobody has given us so clear and insightful a view of the origen and early years of the redoubtable Merlin as has Dee Marie in SONS OF AVALON. ...read the full review.

Trade in Your Old Versions of Merlin: I wish I hadn't read/seen other versions of Merlin before I heard this story. This seems so much more realistic/historical (well, as realistic as a wizard story can be). I liked it. I liked it alot. Good work.

This book was fascinating!!! I have read it 5 times. Every time I read it I learn something new, or remember something different. I could see every image played out. This book will translate very easily to film. I can't wait for the next one!

The book is all about prophecy and the real story of Merlin's past and is a great book for a teenage boy looking for a good read, or anyone looking for a new King Arthur story that doesn't tell you the story like any way you've heard it before...read the full review.

Renderosity Front Page News, June 24, 2008

Where to begin? Why, at the beginning, of course! Beginning with the birth of Merlin, this novel traces Merlin's youth and his growth into his role as visionary of Britain's destiny, and the complex struggles and events that lead to the conception of King Arthur. Right from the Prologue in this retelling of an ancient legend, you catch a sense of great things to come...a mixture of magic, suspense, and mystery. All the elements for a great escape are right here in this first novel in a planned trilogy...read the full review.

Wonderful New Author: Dee Marie is one of the best modern authors I have read in a long time. Her writing style is fast paced, yet her prose are very well written. She pays attention to character detail and gives the reader a visual picture of her characters through words...read the full review.

Mind Fog Reviews July 13, 2008
by book reviewer for Anastasia's Book Attic, Anastasia Cassella-Young

Author Dee Marie does an excellent job following the historical facts of Merlin and Arthur and adds a flourish of fiction to write a wonderful story for reading in the “Historical/Fantasy” genre in her work of “Sons of Avalon: Merlin’s Prophecy” right up through the birth of Arthur.  This is an historical/fantasy that young adults/adults will enjoy! A fantasy in good taste and form; Dee Marie should be up for an award for this one!
